The US Masters

The US Masters played at Augusta in Georgia is the opening Major golf tournament of the calendar year and is the permanent host for the event. It was won in surprising style in 2008 by South African, Trevor Immelman, who edged out Tiger Woods in the final round to win his first Green Jacket. Tiger Woods has already won the Masters four times and will be favourite for a 5th title when he returns to golf in 2009. The tournament does throw up a few surprise winners from time to time, Immelman was obviously one but so too was the 2007 winner, Zach Johnson.
