Severiano Ballesteros

Three time British Open Champion, Severiano Ballesteros is one of the great golfing talents to have emerged during the last 50 years. His name will always be remembered in Open golf history and legends. He single handedly put golf on the Spanish map and it is through his pioneering spirit and huge shot making ability that Spanish golf is so strong today. His cavalier style won him the Open Championship three times, he was a runner up once, In addition he won the US Masters twice and was the top ranked player in the world for a considerable period in the 70s and 80s. In point of fact Seve won over 60 professional tournaments worldwide in a glittering career. Unfortunately, like several golfers Seve lost a great deal of from the early 90s onwards he officially retired from tournament golf in 2007.
