Sergio Garcia - Spain

Sergio Garcia started as tournament favourite at Royal Birkdale last season but never managed to carry the weight of expectancy home. He was there or thereabouts in 2008, but he faded badly towards the end and finished in a very modest tie for 51st position. This upset a good run at the Open where between 2001 and 2007 he had achieved 6 top ten finishes in 7 consecutive Opens. Sergio has been an ever present memeber of the Ryder Cup Team since 2002 and is rapidly earning enough points to overghaul the record currently held by Nick Faldo.
